The checker starts at your website's home page, follows same-domain page links, and tests links found in the HTML of those pages. It reports HTTP 404/410 as broken, plus redirects, access restrictions, certificate problems, and other errors separately.
Important: A blocked request or timeout does not necessarily mean a link is broken. JavaScript-generated links, password-protected pages, and pages beyond the crawl limit aren't included. The tool is read-only and doesn't change any websites.
To keep this free service lightweight, scans are sequential for each visitor, subject to a two-request global concurrency limit, up to three new scans and 400 checked URLs/pages per IP per hour. Only publicly accessible HTTP(S) addresses on standard ports are allowed.
